This is me

On paper, I'm a mess. I'm a physical therapist, healthcare researcher, and UX researcher. How do these things fit together?

One of the threads that ties my experiences is a relentless focus on transformation rather than information. As a physical therapist, I saw the need for this firsthand. Most of my own experiences with healthcare have been distressingly dehumanizing. In my own practice, I made it my mission to uncover people's crucial stories, the kind of stories that lead to "Aha!" moments. These stories allowed me to center patients' needs and design a user experience to meet those needs.

As a healthcare educator and researcher, my teaching, PhD dissertation, and grant funded research projects focused on helping other clinicians learn the skills to uncover their patients' crucial stories and better meet their needs.

In my most recent roles as a UX researcher, I conducted rigorous studies that uncovered insights into user behavior and delivered compelling stories that informed product strategy. In all my work, I care deeply about conducting great research in short timeframes that transforms user experiences, honors the dignity and humanity in each of us, and improves people's lives.
